Yuri Kitashin is an acknowledged expert in the area of recirculating aquaculture systems design and sturgeon breeding technology.
Yuri Kitashin is a Ph.D. in Engineering Science, a senior researcher, has 296 scientific papers and publications, is a co-author and one of holders of the right to technology “Recirculating Aquaculture System with Fluctuation Optimization” or RAS-FO that is protected by 26 patents, certificates and applications for an invention.
In the 80's-90’s Yuri Kitashin specialized in the area of aviation radio electronics. Over the past 20 years he has been engaged in research related to aquaculture technologies for sturgeon breeding.
During the period from 2002 to 2014 Yuri Kitashin was Vice-President of Caviar Court Food Processing (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). He developed a complete design package for the construction of a sturgeon breeding farm with a capacity of 90 tons of sturgeon fish, four tons of black caviar, 40 tons of canned sturgeon and 320 tons of fish wieners, sausage and rolls. In the course of project implementation Yuri Kitashin developed programs for the efficient operation of the sturgeon breeding farm and sturgeon brood stock breeding up to the degree when eggs can be expressed. Yuri Kitashin developed a complete design package for the manufacturing of special equipment for RAS. In particular, water disinfection systems, water treatment mechanical filters, electric switchboards, instrumentation and control systems were designed and manufactured. Yuri Kitashin designed and built a shop for the production of canned sturgeon, fish wieners, sausage and rolls as well as for sturgeon fish and caviar processing. Yuri Kitashin developed and implemented formulations and technologies for the production of high-quality canned fish products, wieners and sausage, hot- and cold-smoked sturgeon fish and fresh-grain black caviar. He also designed and manufactured equipment for caviar processing. Yuri Kitashin obtained a certificate that allows working at processing companies adhering to НАССР technologies.
Since 2008 Yuri Kitashin has participated in international fish projects for sturgeon breeding in Russia, EU and countries of the Asian region.
In 2014 Yuri Kitashin established his own design bureau specializing in design of RAS-based fish breeding farms.
